About UCMAO
The Ukrainian Canadian Medical Association of Ontario is a professional association for Ukrainian Canadian healthcare workers in Ontario.
Our mission
To help our members build a better future in the medical field — through educational guidance, information sharing and mutual support — and to enhance the medical value our community offers to Ontario and to Ukraine.
Who we are
Our members are physicians, nurses, dentists, pharmacists, allied health professionals and students. Some trained in Canada, many in Ukraine; all share a commitment to their patients and to each other.

UCMAO is a branch of the Ukrainian Canadian Congress Ontario Provincial Council, the umbrella body representing Ukrainian Canadians in Ontario.

March 2022
UCMAO calls on Ontario hospitals and clinics to donate surplus medical supplies and medications, and publishes lists of supplies requested by Ukrainian military medics.
March 2022
Members join the Fourth Wave “ambulance for Ukrainian doctors” project and fundraise for Okhmatdyt and Isida hospitals in Kyiv.
April 2022
Medications ship to Lviv with the Canada-Ukraine International Assistance Headquarters; community donations from Bradford follow.
April 2022
The “Support Newcomers 22” project helps arriving medical families with housing, furniture and first steps in Canada.
May 2022
Newcomers meet Ontario’s Minister of Labour and members of the provincial parliament to discuss pathways into the workforce.
December 2022
UCMAO brings the community together for “Ukraine — Land of the Brave”, an evening in Toronto honouring Ukraine’s defenders and the Canadians who help Ukrainians.
